Nolan finally made a character study and it mostly works. The security-hearing framing drags and I wish it trusted the audience more, but the sound design is unreal.

Three hours that move like ninety minutes. The Trinity test is the best use of silence I've seen in a theater — the light arriving before the sound is a gut punch. Downey is the quiet MVP.
